Obituary

William "Bill" Joseph Mundt, beloved son, brother, father, uncle, "papa" and friend to many, passed away peacefully on October 31st, 2024, at his home in Eaton, Colorado, at the age of 71. He was born on April 25th, 1953 to Roy and Mary Lou Mundt in Gunnison, Colorado, and at a young age, Bill and his family moved to Brush, Colorado where he attended elementary through high school. He graduated from Brush High School in 1971. Upon graduation Bill had two sons William "Bill" Leroy Mundt born in 1982 and Bryant Joseph Mundt born in 1987. Bill was also a huge father figure to his nephew Sean Warner born in 1969.

Bill made a living for his family in the oil and gas industry for the vast majority of his life. That is also where he made a lot of friends and formed lasting relationships that he valued dearly. Bill worked for many years throughout Colorado and surrounding regions for many good oilmen before he and his boys formed their own oil and gas company in 2006. Bill was very passionate about work and was very proud of the boys and his achievements. He was a devoted father who worked diligently to help the boys succeed not only in business but propel them in life. He had slowed down over the last few years, but never fully retired from the industry as it was his passion to mentor, and loved to converse with everyone he met. His legacy will live on…

Bill was the type of guy who would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He never liked to see anyone go without and would go out of his way to provide for anyone he seen in need. Bill could talk to anyone and always had a story to tell. He also had a huge spot in his heart for animals and always had a dog or two by his side.

Bill's greatest passions were camping, hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Campfires and cold beers were his favorite! He truly enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and very rarely missed a game. "Papa" was a great sideline coach and was never hesitant to let the referee know of their faults! His grandchildren will greatly miss him attending all their events and spending time with him. Fly high "Papa"!

Bill was proceeded in death by his parents, William Roy Mundt and Mary Lou Mundt; sister, Kathy Warner and husband Mike Warner; daughter in law, Kelsey Mundt. He is survived by his two sons, Bill Mundt and wife Kodi of Eaton, CO; Bryant Mundt of Loveland, CO; nephew, Sean Warner of Brush, CO and children Ashley and James; grandchildren, Caden, Aubrey, Cooper, Maddix, Treycen, Hendrix, Winter and Alyx; and his two dogs, Lunker and Rocky.
