William Thomas Thornsby, 84, lifelong area resident, died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. Bill was born May 6, 1928 in Brush to William and Hazel (Tennant) Thornsby. He married Dorothy Price on December 17, 1950 in Brush. Bill loved his family and they were very important to him. Bill was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, and the local Elks Lodge. Bill enjoyed playing golf, taking care of his yard, woodworking, and doing puzzles. Survivors include, his wife, Dorothy of Fort Morgan, two daughters, Carol Mairs and husband David of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Cathy Ray and husband Gary of Highlands Ranch, one son, David Thornsby of Colorado Springs, two sisters, Leonora Repp of Hood River, Oregon and Evelyn Spears of Largo, Florida, one brother, Norman Thornsby and wife, Carolyn of Brush, grandchildren, Scott Thornsby and wife, Cassandra, Michael, Christopher, and Emily Ray, and Andrew, Katherine and Thomas Mairs, great grandchildren, Nathan, Brianna, and Ashley Thornsby. Graveside Memorial Services and Inurnment will be Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 11:30 am at the Serenity Falls Columbarium in Ft. Morgan. There will be a luncheon, following the inurnment for family and friends at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. Memorial gifts may be given in Bill's name in care of the Heer Mortuary. These gifts will go towards the Colorado Plains Medical Center in hopes of supporting the exemplary care Bill received in his final days. The Heer Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
