WILLIS H. BOWLES, 95, of Fort Morgan, died early Monday morning, January 19, 2009 at the North Colorado Medical Center Hospice Unit in Greeley. He was born in Litchfield, IL on June 28, 1913 to Ellis F. & Eula (Harris) Bowles. He served as Corporal in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in October of 1945. Mr. Bowles married Marie Wiederspahn on September 27, 1947 in Denver. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan, V.F.W. Post 2551, Fort Morgan, and Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed Fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his daughter, Darlene Toepfer of Bakersfield, CA; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jack Baker; his daughter, Myrna "Babe" Miller; his wife, Marie Bowles; his siblings, Leonard, Elwood, Phyllis, Clyde, Melvin, and Mildred, and his granddaughter, Gaynell Miller. Visitation will be Friday, January 23rd from 2 – 5 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 24th at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan with military honors by V.F.W. Post 2551. Memorial gifts may be made to the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan or to Disabled American Veterans in care of Heer & Dahl Mortuary, 225 E. Platte Ave. , Fort Morgan, CO 80701
