Wretha Mae Neefe, 92, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at East Morgan County Hospital in Brush, CO. Wretha was born May 3, 1919 in Wayne County, Illinois to Raymond and Nettie Pennington. On September 14, 1940, Wretha married Victor Neefe in Henderson, Kentucky. They came to Colorado in 1954 from Fairfield, Illinois. Victor died suddenly on October 4, 1961 leaving her and her children. Due to the circumstances, Wretha began cleaning at the Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan, which she continued until 2001. She also cleaned for several people in the community. She loved cleaning for people and took great pride in her work. Wretha continued to live in Fort Morgan until 2002, when she moved into Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. Wretha was a member of the Rock Branch country church when she was young, and she always made sure her kids attended the local Baptist church. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, winning at Bingo, gardening, going to Black Hawk and playing scratch tickets. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Darla Parrish (Al) of Fort Morgan and Donna Amack (Walter) of Brush; 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Fred LeCroy, her son, Edward Neefe, her brother, Lewis Pennington; two sisters, Marie Pennington and Delores Merritt and two grandsons, Brad Amack and Shaun Parrish. Visitation will be Tuesday at Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush from 4-7 PM. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10:00 at the All Saints Lutheran Church at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan. Memorial gifts may be given in Wretha's name to the Sommerlyst Neighborhood of Eben Ezer.
