Zane Drew Simmonds, was born on February 19, 1944 and passed away January 5, 2023.

Zane was a lifelong resident of Fort Morgan. He was born to Evelyn (Drew) and Joseph Simmonds. He attended school in Fort Morgan. Following school, he worked in the oilfield and for Western Sugar, where he retired from in 2010. He enjoyed  fishing and hunting as well as spending time with family.

Zane is survived by wife Lorna of nearly 55 years. He had two children, Zane Jr. and Charlene (Randy) Holbeck of Fort Morgan. He also is survived by his aunt, Daniece Drew of Fort Morgan; a sister, Pat Gawith of Neb, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step father, son, Daniel Simmonds, and grandparents.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
